The last part of this course looks more closely at the final 4 key principles of a Montessori Inspired Lifestyle®.
Principle 9 – Go from simple to more complex.
Principle 10 – Break a task down into steps.
Principle 11 – There is no right or wrong way to do an activity. Think Engagement.
Principle 12 – Ask for Feedback. To end, ask: “Did you enjoy doing this?” and “Would you like to do this again?”
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Simplify a complex task to facilitate success and independence in people with dementia
- Understand how an activity or task can be broken down into subtasks to allow for more participation in people with dementia
- Appreciate the importance of engagement during an activity and focus less on correct execution
- Recognize the value of feedback in building trust in people with dementia
